The maps below compare the current image of Islip town centre and its intended changes.

It can be clearly seen that the main road, shops and housing area will undergo a noticeable transformation after constructions take place. (It can be clearly seen that there are considerable discrepancies between the two maps after constructions take place.)

According to the first map, there is only one main road which is surrounded by many shops. After its proposed development, there will be a sidewalk for pedestrians only. In addition, the main road will be turned into a dual carriageway around the newly developed city center.

Before the development, there are a number of shops on both sides of the main road. Nevertheless, a bus station, shopping centre, car park and a new housing area will be constructed to replace the shops on the north side of the pedestrian walkway. It is also notable that while the countryside in the north of the town will disappear following the development, the shops located to the south of the walkway will remain unaffected. Moreover, the location of the park will be unchanged but its size will be smaller in order to make way for the new houses.
